WoW: Shaman in Dragonflight level guide at level 70

At the beginning at level 60, not all of the talent points that we have distributed in our sample skill are available to you. Just gradually unlock those talents that you are still missing at first.

The path from level 60 to 70 takes you through the beautiful zones of the Dragon Islands. Typically for a level phase, it is important to defeat numerous monsters and put some powerful boss opponents in their place. Whether you solve the new quests with your shaman as a melee fighter or as a lightning-throwing long-range fighter is entirely up to you.

You can get by with both ways of playing. Only as a restoration shaman should you not level up. We chose our Reinforcement Shaman guide because we had so much fun hacking through hordes of enemies in close combat in the beta.

Level Stage Amplifier Talents to Copy/Import:

Above you can see what your final build looks like at level 70. The talent code is designed for level 60. Questing talent selection doesn’t need to be maxed out for the highest possible damage. Much more important are talents that help you survive, reduce the damage you take, increase your movement speed, and make your gameplay nice and handy; just everything so that you can make good progress on the dragon islands.

With that in mind, we’ve opted for perks like Stoneskin Totem, Nature’s Warden, Tailwind, Earth Elemental, With the Tide, and Winds of Al’Akir in the general talent tree. Fire and Ice, Improved Lightning, Flurry, Nature’s Wrath, and Surging Shields provide you with a small damage increase (because your opponents can be expected to polish your shaman’s visage).
The choice is more difficult in the playstyle-specific talent tree, because Enhancement Shaman have many interesting talents. We’ve chosen to level up Elemental Spirits, Wild Spirit, Legacy of the Frost Witch, Ascendancy, Elemental Blast, Winds of Doom, Sundering, Ice Blast, Hot Palm, and Storm Flurry, among others.

Lightning Lasso is a new talent in the Shaman's general talent tree. You can use it to trap and stun an enemy while frying them with lightning damage.

In the level phase, you will rarely find yourself in situations where you can downplay a perfect rotation. Most of your opponents just don’t have enough health for it and will fall over just as you’re gaining momentum. The following list is therefore not to be understood as a fixed sequence of priorities, but tells you when you should use which ability flexibly: Elemental Strike
(at the beginning of the fight, from a distance)

flame shock (maintain)
Raging Lightning (on cooldown; boosts Storm Strike, Ice Strike, Lava Lash)
Storm Strike (when ready)
ice blast (when ready)
freeze shock (always after ice blast)
lava whip (when ready)
lightning strike (with 5 stacks of Maelstrom Weapon)
Chain Lightning (on multiple enemies with 5 stacks of Maelstrom Weapon)
smashing (on cooldown and to stun)

You can cast elemental strikes from afar. This spell increases one of your secondary stats, getting you ready for the battle ahead. Flame Shock also has a 40m range, meaning you can use this effect while the distance between you and your opponent is decreasing. Raging Lightning is a melee ability that boosts your Storm Strike, Ice Strike, and Lava Lash attacks if you hit at least two targets with them. That’s why you use this skill early in the fight and activate it again and again when it becomes ready.Weapon Enhancements
As a booster, don’t forget to boost your two one-handed weapons with the Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon effects, even when leveling up.

Then you shimmy your way through the battle with Ice Shock (always followed by Frost Shock), Storm Smash and Lava Lash. When you reach five stacks of Maelstrom Weapon, Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning will begin to glitter. This is the sign that you can now use these spells spontaneously. If there is one opponent, you choose Lightning Strike, if there are two opponents or more, you choose Chain Lightning.

The Elemental Spirits talent turns your wild spirits into elemental wolves. This allows you to deal even more damage while your wolf companions fight at your side.

As soon as you face off against bosses or have attracted the attention of many opponents, you should use one of your strong cooldown skills. At least. If you have distributed your talent points like we did, you have several cooldowns at your disposal:

Winds of Doom: This talent is useful for boss fights. Windfury Weapon damage and activation chance increase when Winds of Fortune is used. With a paltry 1.5 minute cooldown, Winds of Doom is at your disposal in any fight against stronger opponents.

ascendancy: Transform into an Air Ascendant for 15 seconds, reducing the cooldown of your Storm Strike. As you transform, you trigger a wind blast and Storm Strike and your auto attacks have a greatly increased range (30 yards) while Ascendancy is active. So this cooldown is perfect for fighting multiple enemies!

wild spirit: Summons two Ghost Wolves to fight for you for 15 seconds, increasing your Nature and Elemental damage dealt during that time. The Elemental Spirits talent assigns a specific element to your wolves, further increasing your damage increase. Summon your wild spirits whenever possible and fight monsters that don’t collapse after the first few weapon attacks. The 1.5 minute cooldown time of the cooldown flies by when questing.

battle frenzy/ heroism: You increase your haste by 30 percent for 40 seconds, 10 minute cooldown. Don’t be shy about using Bloodlust/Heroism when questing. So much time elapses between each task that you can definitely use this spell whenever you’re in a tight spot or when you’re messing with a particularly powerful opponent. If you go into dungeons in the level phase, use this spell on the first and last boss.

As a melee fighter, you have to get so close to your opponents that you can count their nose hairs. Unfortunately there is no way around it. But so that you don’t regularly end up on the ground, you have some strong skills that ensure your survival. Rule number one is, of course, do your best to reduce your opponent’s life points to zero before you run out of your own. But if that’s not enough, try one of these skills:

earth elemental: Summons an earth elemental that taunts your opponents to protect you. This talent isn’t just useful on bosses!

astral shift: When you activate Astral Shift, your damage taken is reduced by 40 percent for 12 seconds. Since Astral Shift only has a 1.5 minute cooldown, don’t use it sparingly.

lightning lasso: A new talent and a super cool one at that! You throw a Lightning Lasso at your target, stunning them and damaging them while channeling! You can keep running while lassoing a monster.
Stoneskin Totem: You set up a totem that lasts 15 seconds and reduces your damage taken by 10 percent. Since the totem only has a 30-second cooldown, you can always place it to protect your health.

Totem of Energy Storage: Do you love stuns? We love stuns! Energy Storage Totem summons a totem that then explodes two seconds after the skill takes effect, stunning all nearby enemies for three seconds.

Thunderstorm: In previous expansions, only Elemental Shaman could use Thunderstorm. Now you can also choose this talent as an amplifier! You throw back all enemies around you and slow them down by 40 percent for a short time. This is perfect for when you want to quickly switch into your ghost wolf form and flee.
