Amouranth says she now shows more Overwatch 2 than bathtub on Twitch — and still makes insane amounts of money

Kaitlyn Siragusa (28) became the biggest streamer as Amouranth Twitter, by recognizing the burgeoning “hot tub” meta early on and streaming an awful lot in it. In mid-October, however, she announced that she would also like to show more other content in the future. Now she is taking stock after a month and a half.

What’s the deal with the change? In October, Amouranth explained in an emotional stream that her content was controlled by her husband. In order not to endanger the “Amouranth brand”, she was not even allowed to say that she was married.

Amouranth wanted to break free from her husband and show the kind of content she wants in the future. In the weeks that followed, however, voices kept coming up claiming that nothing had changed in Amouranth’s content. This was also seen by some as proof that she made up the story with her toxic husband.

Now, Amouranth has responded by sharing her Twitch stats on Twitter and addressing a few words to her critics.

Amouranth says her life is better now

On November 27, Amouranth responded to a tweet that accused her of changing her content as a marketing strategy. The streamer said she’s not interested in rebranding.

Instead, Amouranth would just do what she wants and still make seven figures a month doing it. That would be over a million US dollars. How much exactly she earns was published by Amouranth in July 2022.

YouTuber accuses Amouranth that their content is the same as before

What was that criticism? Amouranth returned to Twitch on October 24 after taking a brief hiatus. Since then, there have been voices saying that her content hasn’t changed noticeably, that she’s going on the same way she did before her hiatus.

Controversial YouTuber Destiny, who is himself permanently banned from Twitch, also commented on Amouranth’s content.

In what was supposed to be an apology, Destiny explained that Amouranth’s content had changed significantly, that it was now much more in the “just chatting” category and would show gameplay, such as from the new Pokémon games.

However, Destiny accompanied his apology with footage of Amouranth showing her in a bikini, but apparently categorizing the stream as “Just Chatting.” Destiny also shows a clip in which Amouranth plays Pokémon in a bikini.

Amouranth counters with Twitch stats

This is how Amouranth reacted to the criticism: On November 27, Amouranth responded to the criticism by sharing her Twitch stats for the past month on her personal Twitter account. It’s a “strange loser attitude” to claim their content hasn’t changed, according to Amouranth.

This is what Amouranth content looks like now: Amouranth shared their streaming content for the last 30 days. While the share of “Hot Tub” streams was over 50% 90 days ago, it has now fallen below 10%.

For the first time, she showed more Overwatch than content in the bathtub, the streamer said, which has never happened before (via Twitter). Regarding Destiny’s criticism, Amouranth added that people might only be interested in a few select clips (via Twitter).

So what’s up with the clips? As users explain on reddit, the recordings shown by Destiny are misleading. Amouranth’s streams were indeed properly classified in the “Hot Tub” category as long as she was in a bikini, but the clips would only show the first category of the stream (via reddit).

In fact, a clip of Amouranth playing the new Pokémon game while in her hot tub will appear in this category rather than the game’s (via Twitter).

In an interview with journalist Jake Lucky last week, Amouranth said she’d like to stream exclusively on YouTube, but wasn’t quite what YouTube was looking for just yet. But that could change with the new focus on other content.
