League of Legends: Faker’s decision to remain in T1 has been made

Probably the most famous and at the same time most successful player in League of Legends, Sang-hyeok Lee, better known as Faker, will remain loyal to his team T1 in the coming seasons.

Lee signed a contract that binds him to T1 for the next three years. After the bitter defeat in the dramatic final of Worlds 2022 against DRX, many fans feared that the legendary mid laner could hoist the sails and possibly sign up in the US or Chinese leagues – or even throw in the towel.

League of Legends: Faker pledged allegiance to T1

The “Indomitable Demon King” just missed another chance to become immortal outside of Summoner’s Rift and claim his fourth League of Legends World Championship title. However, the fact that the setback does not affect his motivation and that he continues to look forward to the future with T1 is proven by his commitment to loyalty in the form of the new contract.

Until the end of the season in 2025, the now 26-year-old is strictly devoted to the Korean record champions, whose favor he has enjoyed without restrictions since his breakthrough in 2013. Since his debut, which he crowned with a victory in the World Cup final at the time, Faker has been widely regarded as the best player in the world. If he can keep his level in the coming time, nothing will change that soon.

Along with T1, Faker notched up three Worlds titles, two Mid Season Invitational victories on the international stage, while over the years clinching ten Korean championships in what is arguably the toughest league in the world. He also set the record for most eliminations in tournament history at past World Championships.
