Users on TikTok invent role-playing games where cats sell you something - that's behind the hype

Videos are currently circulating on TikTok of cats who want a certain currency from you: Dabloons. We at MeinMMO explain what the trend is all about.

TikToker have created a fictional market powered by a cat currency called “Dabloons”. It all started with a hamburger “sold” by TikToker Sweezy, who claims to have started the trend. However, users supposedly have his Post copied without marking itwhy that original is now offline.

The TikTok game is reminiscent of an old Khajiit meme from The Elder Scrolls. “Kahjit has wares if you have a coin,” says a cat-like human to the players.

“It will cost you… 4 Dabloons!”

What’s the trend? If you scroll through TikTok, you will eventually come across a slideshow that offers you something. “Hello traveler, you must be hungry from all the scrolling,” says the first image. The second shows a juicy burger, the third says “But it’ll cost you…” and then an image appears of a cat showing off 4 of its toe beans and asking for “4 Dabloons” from you.

Many more examples followed where cats want to sell you something. Users turned it into a real market and noted how many Dabloons they currently have. Some posts also encourage you to comment with the current number of Dabloons you currently own.

We at MeinMMO have also made a Tiktok about it:

What are Dabloons? It’s a huge joke, because Dabloons aren’t real currency. They might just have something to do with cats’ toes. Users suspect they want to make fun of cryptocurrencies.
