The pre-season for the 13th season in Legaue of Legends has been running for a few weeks. It didn’t take long for players to come up with new tricks to win the game for their team. So it comes about that they dug out a strategy from 4 years ago.

What is this strategy? The approach is that a player becomes very strong very quickly. With the introduction of the new jungle items, a bug crept in that the Riot Games staff didn’t think of.

This bug causes any player to be able to buy and sell the jungle item with the Smash spell. This is exactly what midlaners with control mages take advantage of.

You buy the item on the first recall to the base. If the purchase is then reversed, they get their money back. The problem with this, however, is that the effect of the jungle item remains. So the player without a jungle item still collects the cookies for the pet.

When that player collects the stacks – around minute 15 – then they can buy the jungle item again and redeem the stacks by defeating jungle monsters. For each monster killed, the champion loses a cookie and gets 50 bonus gold. As a result, you suddenly have a very large inflow of gold.

Riot Games puts the cards on the table

Where does this strategy come from? The strategy has been able to establish itself as a “funneling strategy” in the League of Legends cosmos. This means that all of the gold is pumped into one character, giving them an insanely strong experience and gold benefit. Topplane was also a focus of preseason and they’ve already increased the gold and experience values ​​there.

Riot Games had previously patched the tactic out of the game because there are few options against this style of play. They did this by reducing gold for players with the jungle item when killing minions in lane. Conversely, players without a jungle item will receive less gold from jungle opponents.
