PlayStation Tournaments for PS5 officially launches today

After three months in public beta, the PlayStation 5 Tournaments feature is now officially available under the name PlayStation Tournaments.

Tournaments for PlayStation 5 is an updated version of the feature first seen on PS4 in 2016, giving players a means on console to compete against other players to win prizes in PlayStation events, challenges, and ranking competitions. .

Sony says the new PlayStation 5 version of Tournaments “streamlines” the competitive player experience, offering easily recognizable tournaments, seamless console registration, shorter tournament times, plus real-time and automatic match updates, all delivered through a new user interface. with the likes of notifications.

To coincide with today’s launch, Sony will launch official tournaments for FIFA 23, NBA 2K23, and Guilty Gear, with various prizes up for grabs. There’s also a new official PlayStation Tournaments Discord server, where Sony plans to host featured interviews and sessions with leading esports figures.
