The Witcher: The remake gets an open world and thus more freedom than the original

This is what Geralt looked like in 2007. The debut is now being reissued.

Not only did Geralt look a bit different in the first The Witcher game, but also the game world.

The Witcher is re-released as an open-world remake. So far it was only known that the title should get a completely renewed, prettier new edition with contemporary graphics. Now developer studio CD Projekt RED has announced that the action RPG will also be equipped with an open world. That means we’re likely to get a lot more freedom of movement than the 2007 original.

What’s the matter? The Witcher franchise is expanding with a whole host of new games. In addition to the completely new trilogy and a kind of spinoff, a remake of the very first part will also be released. As we now know, this time it will be an open world game. Info coming directly from CDPR: We know from an investor presentation by the developer studio that The Witcher remake will even have an open game world. A slide of PDF which you can download herecontains the corresponding note.

Before the lettering and some flames, the following can be read:

“Story-driven, single-player open-world RPG – a modern reinvention of 2007’s The Witcher.”

Unfortunately, more is not revealed: We don’t know how the remake differs from the original. What is certain, however, is that the graphics should be much prettier and more modern.
