The long-awaited real-time strategy game (RTS) called Company of Heroes 3 has many waiting and after being announced about 1 year ago, now we have a look at what will come in its final release.

Classic wars must be given their greatest respect and Company of Heroes 3 is in charge of giving everything, with a number of missions that will make us remember those epic moments in addition to giving us the necessary tools to move our battalion throughout the confrontation against the enemies.

During these sessions and first look we were able to play both single player and multiplayer against another player. Both experiences were some of the most interesting to live, not only because of how iconic this type of game can be, but also because of how polished and well-crafted the game currently is. It’s interesting to see how the game has evolved since its previous installment and without going too far, I think it’s the most anticipated RTS I’ve ever played.

Something that really caught my attention is how they mixed familiar and familiar mechanics with impressive field improvements. For example, now things in the environment can be destroyed more easily, either by the tank or the vehicle that is in our platoon. The infantry responds well to commands and they have those mechanics that make you look like the lord and master of the whole game.

The gameplay is familiar, moving from one place to another to position a very tactical attack, obtaining more supplies throughout this process to strengthen your team and thus execute the battle plan. One of the things that the developers said in the pre-test presentation was “we have fully listened to the community” and I can really believe that is the case.

This time the game makes a slightly different mix in terms of cinematics and narrative. Although in this session we did not see a deep look at the story, we can appreciate the artistic level involved in it, giving us a little of everything, especially that old touch that we can expect in the game.

One of the functions that has caught my attention and was mentioned several times in the presentation is the “tactical pause”. This is a new feature added to the series that allows us to stop choreographed and real-time actions to frame the next steps in battle.

In short, it allows us to slow down the fight when it gets a little chaotic so we can think a little more about the next move. This can be considered an advantage but at the same time it is a great feature that makes these games even more friendly for those who are not very fond of RTS.

Another feature that I also noticed that is really useful is the adjustable free camera that allows us to fly around the grounds or get even closer to all the action. Believe me, it was a pleasant surprise to be able to get the camera close enough to see the characters and the environment with greater fidelity. In this same function you can see the graphic detail and the textures that the game itself has. Obviously it can be seen that by adding these functions they do not seek to accommodate the player to this level of vision, but it is quite representative to be able to see this level of detail in the game.

At the launch of Company of Heroes 3 we will have 4 factions available: US Forces, British Forces, Wehrmacht and Deutsches Afrikakorps. We will also have international units and, above all, the most interesting part, which is the multiplayer and cooperative missions. The multiplayer experience really caught my attention and I can’t wait to really see the whole community showing their best on a strategic level.

Definitely Company of Heroes 3 It comes with a lot of content, enhancements and features requested by the community. These long hours of testing were necessary to convince me of what is new in this game, as well as that its creators have put everything to give us what we need. All that remains is to wait for the official launch and be able to enjoy everything that the game has ahead of it. Company of Heroes 3 It is released for PC this coming February 23, 2023.
