Curious: Huawei builds smartwatches with integrated earbuds

offer

Huawei only officially presented its new Watch Buds shortly before the release in China. This is a smartwatch with wireless earbuds that are housed in the watch case. A concept that was only moderately well received by customers in the past.

Huawei presented the new Watch Buds just before the release – with an advertising clip that prepares the world for the supposed highlight. On Friday, December 2, 2022, the new Huawei Watch Buds will hit the Chinese market.

The Huawei Watch Buds should herald the turning point

The political tensions between China and the USA continue to cause a critical view of Huawei as a manufacturer of network technology and electronics. The smartphones have had to do without the official Google operating system Android for several years and are therefore much less popular on the European market.

Huawei is therefore trying to get better market access outside of China with other products. The Watch Buds come with the Harmony OS operating system developed by Huawei, which also runs on other smart products from the manufacturer.

That’s in the Huawei Watch Buds

The promotional video above shows the new clamshell smartwatch in action. From inside, users can remove two earbuds from their charging sockets. Practical, because this eliminates the need for a separate charging box for the wireless headphones.

What the clip doesn’t show is the size of the smart accessory: more images reveal the chunky shape of the smartwatch so that the earbuds have enough space in the case.

There is not yet a date for the market launch of the Huawei Watch Buds in Europe. Previous attempts to inspire users with the combination of smartwatch and Bluetooth headphones have not had any success worth mentioning. It remains to be seen whether Huawei’s product that is now being presented will change its niche existence.
