No video game hero can do without healing and strengthening items. In “Potionomics” you become a potion seller yourself – but there’s more to the business than just happily mixing things up.

Berlin – Hardly any role-playing adventure can do without healing potions, magic rings, armor or other power-ups. Because somehow the characters have to heal and strengthen themselves. In “Potionomics” you become a friendly shop seller yourself – and you get a lot to do in the process.

In the role of young Sylvia, players face a major task. Her uncle left her his potions shop. The problem: Unfortunately, the shop is on the verge of financial ruin. In order to pay off the high loans, she now has to go to the witch’s kitchen and invent, brew and sell potions herself. Unfortunately, she has no previous knowledge – and yet she has to bring the company back into shape.

A huge amount of possible recipes

So off to the magic cauldron. Mix your own potions from a variety of ingredients. However, this is not that easy. Because the number of combinations is huge, and the competition never sleeps either. Not every mix results in a strong brew, but can also bring negative effects that reduce the quality of the end product.

The successful management of a shop also includes the most beautiful interior and human contacts with the loyal customers. Every visitor brings their own stories with them and has wishes that need to be fulfilled. Money also plays an important role, as you try to sell your products for as much money as possible in card game-based negotiations.

It’s all in the mix

In “Potionomics” a variety of game genres are thus combined. Over time, the many tasks can become quite demanding. And that brings with it a lot of variety. A look behind the counter and into the world of super potions should therefore be worthwhile – because without them most heroes would probably be in a fix.

Oh how nice, such a potion shop. But when it also needs to be run economically, as in Potiomics, then fantasy fun can be challenging. © XSEED Games/Voracious Games/dpa-tmn

“Potionomics” is available for PC via Steam for around 25 euros. dpa
