Indiana Jones: MachineGames' game is a "unique mix of genres," says Todd Howard

The upcoming Indiana Jones game from Bethesda and MachineGames is said to be a “unique” genre mix.

At least that’s what Bethesda’s Todd Howard, who is executive producing on the game, says on the new Lex Fridman Podcast.

What is Indiana Jones?

In it, he was asked if the upcoming game is more like an action-adventure.

Howard’s response: “I would just say it’s a mashup. It’s unique, it’s not just one thing on purpose, so it does a lot of different things.”

Furthermore, Howard, who calls Raiders of the Lost Ark his favorite film, describes the game as “a definite love letter to Indiana Jones”.

For him, Wolfenstein developer MachineGames fits this project “perfectly” because of their storytelling, they “do incredible work”.

The project was originally announced in January 2021 with a short teaser. The game tells a standalone story with Indy at the peak of his career.

There have been no further official details or a trailer since the announcement.
