NVIDIA shares the details of the release of the reimagining of the iconic game from Valve Portal, considered by many to be one of the best games of all time, with advanced graphics features such as full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3 and much more, to give to the game an amazing new look.

Performance is accelerated with NVIDIA DLSS 3 and system latency is minimized with NVIDIA Reflex.

Created by NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios, Portal with RTX will be available as free, official downloadable content (DLC) to current Portal owners on December 8, 2022, just in time for the holidays.

DLSS 3 increases the performance of Portal with RTX up to 2.8 times!

Portal with RTX exemplifies the incredible power of our fast new GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards and the possibilities of our NVIDIA RTX Remix modding platform.

Every frame of the game has been enhanced with stunning full ray tracing, new high-resolution physics-based textures, and new enhanced high-poly models reminiscent of the originals.

To achieve this stunning new look, Portal with RTX uses a suite of demanding graphics techniques accelerated by NVIDIA DLSS technology. DLSS 3 enables 40-series GPU users to get a performance boost of more than 2.8 times, making gameplay incredibly smooth and responsive compared to native rendering, while users of 40-series GPUs 30 series will benefit from DLSS 2, which will make the game a playable experience.

Quotes:

“Updating beloved games requires a balance between applying cutting-edge new techniques and staying true to the original spirit of the game. The experience gained by NVIDIA’s Lightspeed Studios working on RTX versions of such popular games as Minecraft and Quake II gave Valve the confidence to entrust us with the task of introducing modern graphics techniques to their legendary game, and NVIDIA RTX Remix it provided us with the perfect tool to complete the task.”
