The Witcher remake appears after The Witcher 4 and builds on its technologies

It will be a while before you can play The Witcher remake.

And before that, you’ll also be playing The Witcher 4 (codename Polaris), as confirmed by CD Projekt Red.

Only after The Witcher 4

CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński indicatesthat the remake will only come after The Witcher 4, but in turn should benefit from its technologies.

“Getting back to The Witcher Remake and when it will be released, yes, it will be post Polaris [The Witcher 4] appearing as a result of how we feel about this project,” he said during a Q&A session following the release of the business figures.

More news about The Witcher Remake:

“I think The Witcher Remake will be based in large part on Polaris technologies, so some of it will be developed in parallel with Polaris, but once Polaris comes out everything will be fully developed for Polaris and it will be in part be reused in the remake.”

With its new Witcher saga, CD Projekt is building on Epic’s Unreal Engine 5, and the remake being developed by Studio Fool’s Theory also uses this engine.
