A big pre-order campaign is running at MediaMarkt & Saturn. You can still grab the console from retailers today.

Original message from December 1st, 2022, 8:00 a.m.: Hamburg – When it comes to PS5, MediaMarkt and Saturn (MMS) in this country can hardly fool anyone. The sister chains are among the largest and most important retailers in Germany. In November, their dominance was again clearly noticeable, with both large online drops and a broad local pre-order campaign, in which thousands of prospective buyers were able to secure the coveted console from Sony. And at the start of December, the next campaign is already starting.

Buy PS5: MediaMarkt starts new pre-order campaign on December 1st – What about Saturn?

When was the last time you could buy the PS5 at MediaMarkt and Saturn? The last local pre-order campaign started in the first MMS branches on November 12 and ran for more than a week in some places. Only recently there was on 29.11. also lush online drops, where you could also secure PS5 bundles the day after.

What is the current status of fresh PS5 supplies? In terms of local supplies – pretty good. Today, on December 1st, the next pre-order campaign has already started.

According to reports, PS5 consoles bundled with God of War or FIFA 23 can again be pre-ordered locally in some MediaMarkt stores from today – both for €619 each. A deposit of 100 € is then due on site. The promotion is scheduled to run until December 22nd, but only while stocks last. Consoles are guaranteed to be delivered by December 31, 2022 – at least according to radio advertising.

We can’t say exactly which branches are participating in this campaign (experience has shown that there should be many, but unfortunately not all) – not even whether the sister chain Saturn is going along with it. At the moment, only MediaMarkt is being talked about, but Saturn could also be at the start. We’ll definitely keep our eyes open for you.

If you have a MediaMarkt and/or Saturn store near you and are interested in pre-ordering locally, just drive by and ask. You are welcome to let us know via email if you were lucky in a branch.

With regard to online drops, the situation is currently difficult to assess. The community is more likely to assume that MediaMarkt and Saturn will not have any (or if they do, only small) online drops in December and that the existing contingent will be fully incorporated into the local pre-order campaign. It is and remains all speculation for the time being.
