Multiple leaks and sneak peeks over the course of nearly a year and a half have suggested that the next game of Nether Realm Studios will be or Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3, while the founder and creative director of the studio, Ed Boon, has also confirmed that the same.

With Mortal Kombat 11 At over three years old at this point, many have wondered when it will be time for the developer to reveal its next game. However, for those who were expecting an announcement to arrive at The Game Awards next week, there is bad news.

Taking to Twitter recently, Ed Boon confirmed that the studio won’t be announcing anything at The Game Awards on December 8. “Thanks for the anticipation, but we’re not quite ready to announce the next NetherRealm Studios game yet.”

Although the absence of what is probably Mortal Kombat 12 vwon’t go down very well, it looks like the upcoming event will be packed with several big announcements, with reports pointing to titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Diablo 4, Final Fantasy 16, The upcoming game from Kojima Productions and more.
