Elden Ring – Trailer for the free Colosseum update

The Colosseum DLC that has been talked about a lot already

There has been a lot of speculation about this type of expansion. The coliseums are prominent points in the intermediate land that we have not been able to enter so far. However, dataminers have snuck in and shown us that the interior of the building is designed as an arena. Also Dark Souls 3 has received an expansion in which players could compete in areas designed for this.

There are three Colosseums in total, each located in a different region of the in-between viz Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid. Three different game modes were also announced. Next to duels will it be t tooteam fights and “Free for alls“. The latter is probably a free-for-all mode.

We have summarized for you in this article with all the rumors and speculations which other Elden Ring DLCs are conceivable for Elden Ring:

In the trailer we now see for the first time what the multiplayer battles will look like and the Colosseum in Caelid in particular looks very atmospheric with the flags against a red sky and the fires. Well-known opponents like the pumpkin head also make an appearance.

Samara Summer

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the announcement of an Elden Ring DLC for some time now, and I’m currently eyeing the Game Awards. Not only did I really explore every corner of the main game, but I also fondly remember the great expansions from previous FromSoftware titles, which tended to be the best part of the game. I wrote about that in this article.

However, by this statement I mean a story DLC that added new areas, bosses and lore aspects. So this PvP expansion announcement is a bit of a disappointment to me. Because it makes it less likely, in my opinion, that a story DLC will be revealed during the Game Awards.

Of course, today’s news doesn’t rule that out. Jason Schreier firmly believes, for example, in an announcement at the TGA. But my personal hopes have plummeted. I’ll definitely take a look at the arena fights, especially since they’re staged in an atmospheric way, but I probably won’t spend more than a few rounds there.

Now we are interested in your opinion: Do you feel like proving yourself in the Colosseum? And do you think we’ll see another story DLC at the Game Awards?
