The Witcher 3 opens its gates once again for all old and new fans. This time even literally: The next-gen upgrade means, among other things, that a mysterious door that has always been locked for all these years can finally be opened. We also already know what’s behind it: A new quest related to the Netflix series.

The Witcher 3: Secret Door finally opens after 7 years

Which door is it? There is a bandit camp in Velen called Devil’s Pit, which you will find yourself in when you leave Weissgarten. There you will find some baddies who want to get your hands on you, as well as a locked door. Exactly this door is now through that Next gen upgrade finally open.

Speaking of which – here you can see how good The Witcher will look with it:

This is behind the door: So far, the mine or the small cave system behind the door could not be entered in the conventional way. The area was in-game but unfinished and not intended for public view.

Netflix Quest: Thanks to Eurogamer but now we know that this door can now be opened. Behind it, with the Next Gen upgrade, you go on a quest that gives you Geralt’s armor from the Netflix series The Witcher.

The quest itself should be around 30 minutes long and not too spectacular. The mine is creepy and there is an exciting showdown at the end. Apparently, the quest can be completed in several different ways and is recommended from level 15 onwards. The armor can be upgraded from the Season 1 look to the Season 2 design.

The alternative clothes for Dandelion and the infamous Nilfgaard armor can be easily switched on and off in the menu. You don’t have to complete any tasks or quests for this.

Even more secret extras: In addition, The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 development studio CD Projekt RED explains that they have added some exciting details that will not be found in the patch notes. For example, Roach can now walk backwards and even step out.

Are you looking forward to the short bonus quest and the new clothes?
