Epic Games Store: The new free games are full of action and weapons

Saints Row 4: Re-Elected – Co-op fun with superhero flair

The first free game this week is Saints Row 4, the direct sequel to – who would have thought it at this point – Saints Row: The Third. Once again you slip into the role of your self-created character and experience a completely wacky story either alone or in co-op while doing all sorts of nonsense in the open game world.

The plot itself not only makes you the boss of the gangster gang Saints this time, but you are also elected President of the USA right from the start. However, the joy doesn’t last long, because the alien villain Zinyak attacks the earth and throws you into an alternative version of the game town Steelport. Clearly, your goal now is to defeat Zinyak – with the friendly assistance of superpowers.

The Re-Elected version, which you can get for free from the Epic Games Store, includes not only the base game but also all DLCs for Saints Row 4. In addition to various weapon and cosmetic packs, you also get access to the story expansion Enter the Dominatrix.

Wildcat Gun Machine: Dungeon crawler meets Bullet Hell

Wildcat Gun Machine is also action-packed, but in a completely different genre. In the twin-stick shooter, you explore different dungeons, fight some disgusting demons and free mech robots. Oh yes, and cute kittens are of course also on board, living up to the name.

Meanwhile, Wildcat Gun Machine is not a roguelite. The fights are non-random, so you can learn directly from your mistakes to avoid getting hit by the countless enemy projectiles next time. You yourself have access to over 40 weapons, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Both Saints Row 4: Re-Elected and Wildcat Gun Machine are free to play now through December 15 at 5 p.m download. Once activated, the games remain permanently in your library, regardless of whether you install them or let them slumber on the bench for the time being.
