Disney Plus is reacting to the constantly changing range of streaming services from competitors such as Amazon Prime, Paramount Plus & Co. and is introducing a lower tariff level one, but it shows advertisements. The advertising-supported subscription is called Disney Plus Basic and costs $7.99 per month. While that’s a dollar more than Netflix’s comparable subscription model, it offers tangible benefits.
Unlike Netflix, Disney Plus is able to license despite advertising all content to offer. The cheap Netflix subscription, which costs 4.99 euros in Germany, is limited to one device and offers maximum resolution in HD, i.e. up to 720p. All of this is omitted with the Disney Plus counterpart. Highest resolution up to 4K UHD and multiple devices at the same time are also included in the subscription with advertising.
Disney Plus increases prices, soon in Germany too?
In Germany, a Disney Plus membership that can be canceled monthly has so far cost 8.99 euros. In the USA, on the other hand, prices were increased. Disney Plus Basic is $7.99 in the United States, with the regular subscription price increased to $10.99. At least they are three dollars more than before.
