New games of the week finally bring us the next gen versions of a grandiose RPG
These are the new releases of the week.
Which console games in the week of 12th to 18th December 2022 appear, we summarize here for you. As usual, we start with the highlights, followed by important new releases for PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and the Nintendo Switch.
The highlights of the week:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Version (Next Gen Update)

That’s what it’s about: In a medieval fantasy world based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, the witcher Geralt goes in search of his foster daughter Ciri Ist. He travels through war-torn Temeria with his mentor Vesemir. Suffering, chaos, raids and monsters are the order of the day there.
What’s new? The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released back in 2015, so the next-gen versions focus primarily on technical improvements. In addition to faster loading times and ray tracing, five important PC mods also make it onto the console. A lot of Quality of Life improvements include DualSense support, a new camera view and filters for the map. But there is also some small new content waiting for us, like some new armor and a quest based on the Witcher series.

That’s what it’s about: Crisis Core tells the prelude to Final Fantasy 7, just as it did on the PlayStation Portable. Playing as Zack Fair, a former comrade of Cloud Strife, we dream of becoming a heroic soldier of the first rank.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is a mix of remake and remaster that remasters the PSP game. The developers have therefore tweaked the technology more than just superficially. Among other things, the game is now fully synchronized (in Japanese and English, German is only available as subtitles), the combat system has been revised and there are also new animations. All of this contributes to a smoother gaming experience. Still, don’t expect the most modern game design here.
