New this week on Steam, featuring Final Fantasy, alien action, and a mega-classic remake

A new week on Steam means a whole series of new releases – this time with Final Fantasy, among others. Alien fans will also get their money’s worth and retro gamers can look forward to the remake of a real strategy classic.

Christmas is not long in coming – and while Steam is already throwing around big discounts, gaming fans can look forward to a number of interesting new releases on Valve’s gaming platform. We’ve looked at the top releases of the current week and revealed which titles are worth checking out.

Two classics and a wacky alien shooter

Get started Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion, an HD remaster of the popular Final Fantasy VII prequel. In Crisis Core we experience the story of Zack Fair, who will later play an important role for Cloud, the hero of Final Fantasy VII. The developers have revised all the graphics for the HD remake and created new 3D models. In addition, an improved combat system should ensure particularly smooth gameplay. The title will be released on December 13, 2022 on Steam and costs 49.99 euros in the standard version.

Also on December 13, 2022, the second title in our list will be released, namely another remake of a true classic: Master of Magic is one of the best-known RPG turn-based strategy games of the 90s and is now available on Steam in a contemporary new edition. The title features various playable mages from different magic schools, 14 different races, almost 200 unique unit types and two different dimensions – so plenty of fun should be guaranteed for role-playing tacticians.

On the other hand, if you like it more futuristic, you should check out the wacky first-person shooter High On Life closer look, which will also be released on December 13, 2022 on Steam. The title comes from the making of Justin Rolland, who has already made a name for himself with Rick And Morty and Solar Opposites. You take on the role of a bounty hunter who must use talking guns to stop a criminal cartel from enslaving people for drugs. Judging by the trailers, High On Life is a brightly colored, wacky rollercoaster ride in the form of a humorous first-person shooter.
