Plenty of freedom for the cult hedgehog: instead of linear levels, “Sonic Frontiers” uses open-world design for the first time in SEGA’s traditional jump-and-run series. Here are some of the best features and activities awaiting Sonic (and you) as you journey across the mysterious Starfall Islands.
You can explore the five island game worlds of different sizes in “Sonic Frontiers” according to your taste. Quest markers show you the way, but you only have to follow them if you want to. It’s worth walking around freely, because there’s also a lot to discover off the beaten track.
In addition to all sorts of treasures, there are many hidden junctions that you can reach via platforms, grappling hooks or rails – and all at the typical Sonic pace. So it’s worth looking up or down and risking one or two daring jumps.
Once you have found one of the secret paths in the open world, you can discover a variety of tasks. The palette ranges from fast parkour sections and daring jump passages to action-packed fights and various errands for the inhabitants of the secret country. Sometimes you should let landscapes bloom green, sometimes let the water out of an oasis – variety is provided.
Similar to the PlayStation 2 hit “Shadow of the Colossus”, powerful titans roam the world of “Sonic Frontiers”. And you have to defeat them! But it is not enough to attack them blindly.
You need the Chaos Emeralds to unlock Sonic’s true power. Only then are you strong enough to take on the Titans. Each of the giants has its own strengths and weaknesses. Find them and rid the land of the colossuses. Who hasn’t dreamed of playing Super Saiyan Sonic against giant Kaijus?
Rings, keys, gears: In “Sonic Frontiers” there are many objects to collect. But they are not just a nice decoration or only increase your points account – you need them to unlock various actions.
You can use it to unlock portals for so-called cyberspace races in classic Sonic levels or improve Sonic’s skills. How do you get the coveted items? It’s up to you and your style of play! Eliminate opponents and guards, solve smaller puzzles or complete the races – you decide what you enjoy.
Speaking of items: You can also get hold of them in “Sonic Frontiers” by dedicating yourself to fishing. Relaxed, you cast the rod out at the lake and see what bites. There is an abundance of small and large sea creatures that you can catch.

These conditions of participation and data protection notices regulate participation in the “Sonic Frontiers” competition by Content Fleet GmbH, Kehrwieder 8, 20457 Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as “CF”) by the participants and the collection and use of the data collected or communicated by the participants.
By participating in the competition, participants accept these conditions of participation.
2. Sweepstakes Terms and Conditions
The competition begins on 12/12/2022 at 11:00 a.m. and ends on 12/21/2022 at 11:59 p.m. The opportunity to participate ends on December 21, 2022, 11:59 p.m.
Persons who are resident in Germany or Austria at the time of the competition and who are older than 18 are eligible to participate. Proof of age will be provided upon notification of the winners in the form of a copy of their identity card. Excluded are employees of the organizer CF and employees of cooperation partners who are or were involved in the creation or processing of the competition.
The winner will receive 1 of 3 Sonic Frontiers for PS4 or 1 of 1 Sonic Frontiers for PS5 or 1 of 4 Sonic Frontiers for Nintendo Switch.
The winners will be notified promptly by email and asked for confirmation. The participant must state his address in the confirmation so that the prize can be sent to him.
If a participant does not confirm acceptance of the prize within a period of 7 days, the prize will be forfeited. A payment of the profit in cash, in kind, its exchange or transfer to other persons is not possible. A participant can forgo the prize. In this case, the next participant in the winner’s ranking takes his place. If the specified contact options are incorrect (e.g. invalid e-mail addresses), CF is not obliged to find out correct addresses. The disadvantages resulting from the provision of incorrect contact details are at the expense of the participants. CF points out that the availability and function of the competition cannot be guaranteed. The competition can be terminated or removed due to external circumstances and constraints without the participants having any claims against the organizer.
This may include technical issues, rule changes or decisions made by platforms such as YouTube if the Sweepstakes is hosted on or in connection with them.
5. Privacy Policy
CF collects and uses the data of the participants only insofar as this is legally permitted or the participants consent to it.
The following data is collected from the participants by the organizer and is used to design, implement and process the competition: name of the participant, address and e-mail address. As part of the competition, CF is entitled to pass on the data to MediaMarktSaturn Germany.
Upon request in writing or in text form, the participants can request information from the organizer at any time as to which personal data is stored by the organizer, can request their correction or deletion and revoke data usage consent.
