The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: Exact release time of the next-gen update

Only a few days left until Witcher Geralt shines as beautifully as never before: the release of the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is imminent. But when exactly does the starting signal sound?

It is known that the update will be released on December 14th. In the meantime, however, developer CD Projekt Red has via Twitter again communicated exactly when you can expect the big update.

The Witcher 3: It starts at midnight

Accordingly, owners of a PlayStation 5 can be happy, because the next-gen update will be released for the Sony console at midnight. For the Xbox Series X | S and the PC, however, fans have to wait an hour longer. On the two platforms, the release will take place at 01:00 on December 14th.

As previously announced, the update will be provided free of charge to all owners of a copy of The Witcher 3, whether or not you own the two paid expansion packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. On the other hand, if you don’t even own the role-playing game yet, you can purchase the next-gen version directly with the release of the update.

What’s in the next-gen update?

The most obvious innovations in the next-gen update for The Witcher 3 concern the visual side: with improved textures, revised lighting, added details and support for ray tracing, Witcher Geralt arrives in 2022.

In addition, the next-gen update also offers new game content. So there is now a quest with which you can unlock the armor from the Netflix series The Witcher. There are also many minor improvements, including an extensive photo mode and the permanent integration of certain modifications.
