With this trick you can unmask Ditto immediately

Hold those ZR button down and target a Pokémon on the overworld. Then his will Name in a small text box displayed. If it really is this Pokémon, the name is also correct. But if it’s secretly a Ditto, then “Ditto” will also appear in the name field. This way you can see directly whether the monster in front of you is a transformed Ditto.

By the way: If you have never seen Ditto before, instead of the name “Ditto” only appear three question marks above the other Pokemon. So if you are sure that you already know the Pokémon in front of you and have met it before, but question marks are still displayed, it is probably a ditto.
