Henry Cavill to Star in and Produce a Warhammer 40,000 TV Series for Amazon

Games Workshop has confirmed that Amazon and Henry Cavill have signed a deal to bring Warhammer 40,000 to TV.

cavill is “contributing his experience in history” to the mantle of executive producer, and “his sword arm” to the leading role.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Amazon is in the final stages of securing the rights to Warhammer 40K. Upon closing the deal, Henry Cavill will executive produce and star in a television series of the beloved franchise. It’s worth noting that these discussions could fall apart at the last minute, but it sounds pretty close to a done deal.

There are many things we still don’t know. There’s no mention of the setting, who Cavill will be playing, or a timeline for the casts. But still, this is very exciting news for fans of Warhammer 40,000 and confirmation, finally, that the hobby is coming to the big screen.

The deal covers rights to the Warhammer 40,000 universe in series, movies and more, Games Workshop said. Cavill will star in and executive produce the Warhammer 40,000 franchise across all Amazon Studios productions.
