Other interesting numbers include more than 11.5 million views of the live stream on Twitter and a 28 percent increase in conversation volume year-over-year. The number of unique authors has increased by 33 percent, while the #TheGameAwards hashtag has seen a 31 percent increase in usage. Of course, the show was also #1 trending worldwide and included in the top 5 global trends.

Steam numbers were good too, thanks in no small part to the Steam Deck giveaway. Over 9.5 million unique users watch the stream on the platform, with a peak concurrent audience of over 850,000. While next year’s show has yet to be confirmed, Keighley announced that Summer Game Fest would return on June 8, 2023.
