from Tanya Barth
There’s good news for all fashion victims in World of Warcraft! With the new Trading Post feature, two brand new transmog outfits come into play, which are all about the legendary guardian Maiev Schattensang. There are two matching Nightsaber mounts on top!

The Trading Post is a new WoW feature coming in patch 10.0.5. Vendors offering unique wares will soon appear in Horde and Alliance capitals. With this, the developers of World of Warcraft wanted to encourage the players to do many different tasks. You can read more about the new feature and how the trading post works in this article.

For the Wardens of the Kaldorei!

The first look at the offer in the trading post makes the hearts of mount and transmog collectors beat faster. Blizzard is even granting a special request for night elf fans by introducing two transmog outfits modeled after the iconic armor worn by legendary kaldorei heroine and Illidan hunter Maiev Shadowsong. The robes of the guardians come in two different colors that take up the sun and moon theme.

Matching the new transmog outfits, there are two new night saber mounts that visually match the respective armor. There is currently a heated discussion in the WoW community as to whether the new sun armor is not an indication that the night elves will be allowed to move through Azeroth as paladins in the near future.

Who was Maiev Shadowsong?

Maiev was originally a priestess of the moon goddess Elune who fought against the Burning Legion in the War of the Ancients. After creating the second Well of Eternity, Maiev formed a militant order of priestesses dedicated to guarding Illidan Stormrage. She herself volunteered to be the guardian of Illidan’s dungeon.

Maiev pursued this task for 10,000 years until Tyrande freed Illidan from his dungeon (Warcraft 3). The guardian followed the demon hunter to Outland, where she finally struck him down (Burning Crusade).
