Geforce RTX 4080 / 4090 in white: After Galax, Asus is now also at the start

After Galax, Asus has now also introduced white custom graphics cards based on the Geforce RTX 4080 / 4090. The two models will be launched as the ROG Strix White Edition and largely correspond to the already familiar black custom design.

Like the reference designs, most custom designs from board partners are black. Fortunately, there are always outliers where the cooler comes in other colors. Particularly popular: white hardware, for example to combine it with a matching mainboard and housing.

ROG Strix in white and silver

Anyone planning such a system should have been happy a few days ago: Galax has already presented white graphics cards based on the current generation. Now the board partner Asus has taken the same step: The in-house ROG Strix graphics cards were presented as a White Edition. The corresponding models based on the Geforce RTX 4080 and the Geforce RTX 4090 can be found on the company’s website.

the Geforce RTX 4080 ROG Strix White Edition and the Geforce RTX 4090 ROG Strix White Edition seem to correspond to the “normal” models to a large extent – Asus simply recolored the cooler cover. Instead of black, red and blue, the new custom designs come in white and silver. There is also a change in the scope of delivery: the White Edition also includes a ring with the ROG logo, which is missing in the black version.

Otherwise, everything remains the same with the graphics cards of the ROG Strix White Edition: Asus apparently uses the same black PCB, and the OC models also work with the same clock. The Geforce RTX 4080 is said to run at 2,655 MHz, and the Geforce RTX 4090 at 2,640 MHz. Anyone who prefers a white custom design will probably not have a disadvantage with the White Edition. The only problem could be the price: the two graphics cards are still there not listed in the PCGH price comparisonbut such special models are often a bit more expensive than the standard version.
