Pokémon Crimson/Crimson: Tera Raids bring not just one, but three new Pokémon

Thanks to the Tera Raids, players in Pokémon Crimson & Crimson can catch entirely new Pokémon that did not previously exist in the Paldea region. Twice already there was a chance to catch a special Charizard that carries the Tera-type dragon.

Yet destructoid-Editor Chris Carter has now found out that if we have a Ditto in our possession, we basically get three new Pokémon through a Tera Raid. Thanks to breeding, it is possible to hatch a Charmander egg and develop it further.

New Pokémon thanks to breeding with Ditto

How does that work? Since only one Charizard could be caught per save, Ditto has to be used. We can leave Charizard and Ditto alone during a picnic and – whoops – it will soon be raining eggs that hatch Charmander.

The following article reveals how breeding works and where Ditto can be caught:

Since Charmander evolves into Glutexo at level 16, we can get three new Pokémon for our Pokédex pretty quickly.

Will this trick also work for future Tera raids? Yes! So be sure to take the chance and catch the Pokémon from the special Tera Raids that have not yet existed in crimson/purple. On December 30, 2022 there is the next chance to collect more Pokémon.

Because from this date Liberlo will be catchable from sword/shield in the Tera Raid. Ditto can then be used to breed Hopplo, which evolves into Kickerlo at level 16. Should there be more starter Pokemon in the upcoming Tera Raids, they can be reproduced in the same way.

What do I do if I missed Charizard? That’s no problem. There will be tons of other players willing to trade one of their Charmander evolutions. So even trainers who missed the first Tera Raid can get a Charmander, Glutexo and Charizard.
