Pokémon Go: Shiny Igamaro for Community Day January 2023 – Guide
The first Pokémon Go Community Day in 2023 focus on the plant starter from the Kalos region: Igamaro. As is usual with such an event, the shiny version of the Pokémon is brought into play, which will not only please the shiny hunters among you. Furthermore, learn the second evolution of Igamaro, Brigaron, the powerful exclusive attack Flora statue, you can expect a small raid event with Igastarnish and then there are of course some bonuses and paid special research. Pokemon Go Community Day with Igamaro
Pokémon Go January 2023 Community Day will take place on January 7, 2023 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The Spiked Head Pokémon Igamaro will be the focus and with luck you can get it as a shiny.
brigaron, the second evolution of Igamaro, between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. learns the exclusive charge attack Flora Staue, which deals 100 points of damage in trainer battles, arenas and raids.
Igastarnish appears between 17:00 and 22:00 as a tier 4 raid boss in the arenas. You can only join these Raid Battles with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Joining with remote raid passes is not possible. If you emerge victorious from a battle, more wild Igamaro will spawn around the arena for 30 minutes! Igamaro spawning under these circumstances have the same chance of a Shiny Pokémon as Igamaro spawning during the three-hour Community Day period.
Between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. the following bonuses are activated:
- Double Catch Candy
- Double the chance of XL Candy when catching Pokémon for Trainers level 31 and above
- Eggs placed in an Egg Incubator during the event will hatch four times faster.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Smokes activated during the event (other than the Daily Adventure Smoke) will last for three hours.
- Take some snaps during Community Day – you might be in for a surprise!
Between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. the following bonuses are activated:
- An additional special exchange (i.e. a maximum of two per day)
- During the event, bartering costs 50% less Stardust
Special Research: Field Notes: Stately Spikes
For 0.99 euros you can unlock a Community Day exclusive special research: Stately Spikes. The exact steps and rewards are not yet known, but they rarely change from previous Community Day Special Research. We’ve already noted steps and rewards for “Field Notes: Stately Spikes” for you and will then make an update in time for Pokémon Go Community Day January 2023.

- Level Pokémon 10 times – Reward: 15 x Poke Ball
- Catch 15 Igamaro – Reward: Encounter with Igamaro
- Land 5 good throws – Reward: 20 x Igamaro Candy
Reward for completing step 1: 2,000 Stardust, Star Piece x1, encounter with Igamaro
Stately Spikes – Step 2/4
- Catch 15 Igamaro – Reward: 30 x Igamaro Candy
- Send 10 Pokemon – Reward: Encounter with Igastarnish
- Evolve 3 Igamaro – Reward: 10 x Pineapple Berry
Reward for completing step 2: 1,500 experience points, 1 x smoke, encounter with Igamaro
Stately Spikes – Step 3/4
- Land three great curveballs – Reward: 50 x Igamaro Candy
- Evolve 1 Igastarnish – Reward: 1 x lucky egg
- Send 10 Pokemon – Reward: 15 x Super Ball
Reward for completing step 3: 2,500 experience points, 1 x Rocket Radar, 15 x Hyper Ball
Stately spikes – Step 4/4
- Done automatically – Reward: 2 x Silver Pineapple Berry
- Done automatically – Reward: Encounter with Igamaro
- Done automatically – Reward: 3,500 experience points
Reward for completing step 4: 3,000 Stardust, Rare Candy x3, Encounter with Brigaron
Danger: As previously mentioned, the exact steps and rewards for the Pokémon Go Community Day Special Research “Field Notes: Splendid Spikes” are not yet known; we will update them for you in the morning hours of January 7, 2023 so that you can assess whether it is worth buying the event ticket or not.
