The Witcher 3: Mod brings DLSS update to the next-gen version

from Valentin Sattler
A mod enables the use of DLSS 2.5 in Witcher 3 Next Gen. This should improve image quality and performance. However, a big leap is not to be expected.

In the more than seven years since the release of Witcher 3, countless mods have appeared that continue to improve the role-playing game and keep it up to date. Some of these adjustments even made it into the recently released next-gen version of the game, improving models and textures, among other things. In addition, major innovations such as ray tracing support and support for AMD’s FSR and Nvidia’s DLSS were brought into play.

DLSS 2.5 for Witcher 3 Next Gen

After the release of the technically revamped Witcher 3, the modding community apparently doesn’t take a break – quite the opposite. The website Nexus Mods counts 18 new releases for Monday alone, adapting various parts of the game. A mod from Friday should be particularly interesting for Geforce users, because it brings a newer DLSS version into play.

As already mentioned, CD Projekt has added DLSS support with the update, by default The Witcher 3

Wccftech has already tried the mod and it seems to be working. However, the switch to DLSS 2.5 should not supposedly result in major performance improvements: Witcher 3 with ray tracing should still require a strong GPU. If you have problems with the reference implementation, you still have an alternative. And by the way, the mod shows that the Witcher 3 community can and wants to continue to improve even seven and a half years after its release.
