from Norman Wittkopf

Fritzbox updates: Many innovations

Both laboratory versions 7.39 and 7.51 share many features, which will not all Fritzboxes support equally. The current laboratory test version contains many new functions fresh from development and allows previews of future firmware functions of the next major update. Among other things, the plan includes modernization of the user interface, new functions for the in-house Fon devices, the expansion of VPN support to include WireGuard and further improvements for WLAN, mesh and other areas.

This also includes the areas of Smart Home, the home network, Internet functionality, mobile communications, DSL, cable, telephony, USB features and the system itself. The list of improvements is very long with around 150 innovations and, as mentioned, not all of them are included Models equipped with all new functions. AVM lists all changes made by the FritzOS versions 7.39/7.51 from the laboratory and model-specific restrictions in the changelog on the official website.
