After a reveal trailer earlier this month and the release date of Star Wars Jedi-Survivor were made public, Game Director spoke now Stig Asmussen with Game Informer about what’s new in the sequel to Star Wars Jedi – Fallen Order (in the test, grade 8.5)

Cal Kestis can now switch between a number of fighting styles in combat. Including wielding double blades or a lightsaber-blaster combo (according to Asmussen, the latter shows how things are with Cal and the galaxy far, far away, which would have been frowned upon at Jedi heyday). Each option offers advantages over certain enemy types.

Cal will also be more flexible when exploring, with a new gadget he will swing over abysses and to higher places. In addition, he will be able to tame and ride wild creatures. According to Asmussen, Cal’s ability to overcome obstacles takes a broader Metroidvania approach.

Star Wars Jedi – Survivor will be released on March 17, 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X.
