Diablo 4: Developers with explanations of the release date trailer
Almost two months after Blizzard released the release date trailer for Diablo 4, the developers are going into some details of the cinematics. The focus is on Inarius and Lilith.
After a long wait, Blizzard finally revealed the release date of Diablo 4 in early December: The game is scheduled to appear on June 6 for PC and current consoles. At the same time, an impressive cinematic trailer was released at the same time, which was intended to get fans in the mood for the new game. This video has now been picked up again by the developers: Associate Game Director Joseph Piepiora, Community Lead Adam Fletcher and Game Director Joe Shely talk about the release date trailer and the reactions of the community on YouTube.
A little insight
However, there are not too many new details, the developers hardly reveal anything. Instead, there is just one more clarification on the two most important characters in the trailer, the angel Inarius and the demon Lilith. Apparently, after the release of the trailer, the developers were asked several times about both characters and their role in Diablo 4 asked. Although these were already in the Diablo 3 expansion Reapers of Souls hinted at, but of course that didn’t go down well with all players.
In their video, the developers make it clear once again that Lilith and Inarius created Sanctuary, the game world of the Diablo series, together. They wanted to escape the eternal struggle between demons and angels, which according to the trailer probably didn’t work out that well. In addition, the developers once again highlight some visually particularly impressive moments, in particular the depiction of Inarius’ wings. However, there is no new information about the background story – previous hints from Diablo 3 went a bit further here.

Instead, the developers only announce in their new video that there will be numerous more details about the background story of Inarius and Lilith in the future.
