GoldenEye 007 makes it harder for you to cheat on Xbox

GoldenEye 007 is now available on both Xbox and Nintendo Switch, but there are differences in the cheats in the two versions.

This affects the way these work and are unlocked in-game.

How it was and how it is now

Different modes and also secret levels could be unlocked on the Nintendo 64 by completing certain missions with a specific level of difficulty and within a time limit.

Alternatively, these things could also be activated by entering cheat codes.

Said cheat codes still work on the Nintendo Switch, but not on the Xbox version.

“This version of GoldenEye 007 is very much like what players know and love from the 1997 version,” informs Xbox about it. “Specifically for cheats, these can be unlocked by completing levels in the required time rather than using the previously used keycodes.”

So on Xbox it is necessary to meet the specific requirements instead of just pressing a few buttons.

Apart from that, there is another difference: the online multiplayer mode is only included in the Nintendo Switch version.
