the Consumer Center is currently warning of a new one phishing attempt, targeting sensitive data of Disney+ users. These will be emailed via an alleged account suspension notified. Due to payment problems, it was not possible to continue the subscription.

In order to activate the account again, reactivation and the release of personal data are therefore required. The scammers want to use this to get sensitive information in order to identity theft to operate. Therefore, special caution is required.

Sample emails sent to the consumer advice center show that the fake emails no personal address is available. Instead, you will probably be addressed with your own e-mail address. In addition, some emails probably also contain typos, which they should quickly expose as attempted fraud.

The e-mail also contains a button that allegedly contains a reactivation link. Under no circumstances should this be clicked, as this unsafe websites leads that request personal information and may even contain malware.

Anyone who has received a similar email and was unsure whether it could be a real request from Disney + should delete it immediately or move it to the spam folder. Of course, you should not pass on any personal data if you are asked to do so by e-mail, SMS or other means.

Account reactivations usually take place on the respective streaming platform and not via external websites. Therefore, there is a principle behind requests of this kind attempted fraud and no real problem with an account.
