Xbox Series X: price increase in Japan in February

Both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will see price increases in Japan in February.

Microsoft will increase prices for both models of the Xbox Series lineup in Japan in February.

The Xbox Series X currently costs 54,978 yen/390 euros and the Xbox Series S 32,278 yen/229 euros.

After the price increase goes into effect on February 17, the Xbox Series X will then 59,978 yen/425 euros or the Xbox Series S 37,978 yen/269 euros costs.

Microsoft said of the price increase in a statement:

“After carefully evaluating the market situation in Japan, we have decided to change the recommended retail price for Xbox consoles in this country. We regularly assess the impact of local pricing to ensure appropriate consistency across regions. This price change affects our customers and was a difficult decision, but we will continue to deliver the ultimate Xbox experience our customers have come to expect.”
