Pokémon GO: Finally everyone can now use a practical feature – “One of the best upgrades in a long time”
IIn Pokémon GO, all trainers can finally look forward to a new, practical feature that should have been in the game for a few weeks. We at MeinMMO show you which function is involved and how the players react to it.
Which feature is it? In December 2022, Niantic released a new item pouch feature as part of update 0.270.0 in Pokémon GO. Sorting should now be simplified with a new view. But not all coaches have been able to use the new function so far.
Niantic has finally improved this. We show you what the new feature looks like and how the trainers reacted to it.
Niantic is finally activating the new item feature for everyone
Is the feature active for everyone now? Yes! While some players have enjoyed the new sorting over the past few weeks, other trainers still had to scroll through their item bags forever to find the item they wanted. But now the feature is finally available to all trainers.
This is what Niantic shared on the night of February 1st via her Twitter account with: “The item pouch has been updated for all trainers to allow switching between the current design and a more condensed view where items are categorized into groups. You can toggle between the two views by tapping the list/grid icon at the top right of the item bag screen.”
And numerous trainers on social networks also confirm that the new function is finally available to them. So does the reddit user mtdrunk247 (via reddit.com): “I finally got the new item option, can others confirm this too?”
What has changed? Before the introduction of the new feature around the item view, the trainers expected a long list in the item bag, without any filter functions. This was particularly annoying when you were looking for an item that was listed way down.
Now this view can finally be changed by the trainers. Instead of the endless list, a grid view can now also be selected. In this case, the items are grouped according to their respective categories and the bag appears clearer.
What does the new feature bring? The new feature offers a real “Quality of Life” improvement in the game for the trainers. This not only affects the pure appearance of the item bag, but also means that the trainers can find their items faster.
New item feature makes trainers enthusiastic
In the last few weeks, the new items function has caused a lot of frustration in the community. The reason for this was that the feature could not be used by all trainers so far.
So many players hoped that it would finally be available as part of update 0.261.0 released on January 26th. Some trainers were all the more disappointed that the focus was instead placed on other areas, such as a new catch feature.
Now Niantic has finally improved this and is causing a lot of enthusiasm in the community. Finally, all trainers can benefit from the new item feature. You can in the reddit comments read the following:

- Bag440: “Finally, and it’s a good change, although I really don’t know why they rolled it out bit by bit.”
- Tarcanus: “Man, that’s sooo much better to navigate. Now all we have to do is be able to organize the sections and tiles so that what we want is at the top and then it’s perfect.”
It remains to be seen whether there will actually be an opportunity to customize the item bag at some point.
