Alan Wake 2: Developer Remedy’s biggest project to date

Dead Space Remake: The Return to the USG Ishimura

Alan Wake 2 is Remedy’s biggest project to date, according to Creative Director Sam Lake.

Alan Wake 2 continues the story of the eponymous writer 2023, thirteen years after the publication of the first part.

Creative Director Sam Lake made it clear in the middle of last year that the second offshoot will not be a perfectly normal sequel when he described the game’s story and its scope as a true monster.

In an interview with games radar Lake has now followed up again and confirmed that the next part of the brand, which has never been completely written off, is actually developer Remedy’s largest project to date:

“I feel like I never got past Alan Wake. There was always the full intention of returning to him; there was always more story to tell, and the characters and setting were too valuable to forget. The story continued to grow and evolve over the years, and we developed a new concept between each project. This time, after Control, everything finally fell into place.”

“You keep the dream alive by actively continuing to dream it and constantly striving to keep it fresh and exciting. If anything, the Alan Wake 2 dream has only grown more ambitious and unique over the years. A game project like this is a very complex endeavor – it’s our biggest project to date – and a lot of different things have to come together. Not just the concept itself, but also the timing and the right partners.”

Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. An exact date or period for the publication is not known at this time.
