How brutal is Insomniac’s Wolverine game going to be? Supposedly it could appear as early as the end of 2024

You may be able to play Insomniac Games’ upcoming Wolverine game as early as next year.

Giant Bombs Jeff Grubb did in a recent live stream implied.

WHen does it come?

When the game was announced in September 2021, it was said that it was still in a “very early phase of development”.

According to Grubb, his sources talk about two possible time windows for the release. On the one hand, it could appear about a year after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is expected this fall.

Internally, however, they are still talking about the year 2025 as the year of publication.

“But if anyone can release two big triple-A games in two consecutive years, it’s Insomniac,” he says.

What is Wolverine about?

As Grubb goes on to state, the game has nothing to do with the X-Men and Wolverine films. It’s about the character’s adventures before he joins the superhero team. Insomniac is aiming for a “Hard R” rating for the game.

In contrast to Spider-Man, according to him, the Wolverine game should not be based on a completely open world, but rather on different larger areas à la God of War Ragnarök.

It will probably be a while before we get more detailed information about Wolverine from the official side. Expect more information after the release of Spider-Man 2 at the earliest.
