Rocket Beans send most of the team on short-time work
Certainly not only we, but also many of you “grew up” with Game One and the humorous introductions by Simon, Budi, Nils and Etienne. Later, the four noses built up Rocket Beans Entertainment together with Arno Heinisch, in order to finally build a unique internet station from the first YouTube channel Rocket Beans TV, which was fed with content 24 hours a day.
Rocket beans are in crisis
Over the past few years, the rocket beans have tried an incredible number of formats, expanded the team and changed the concept. The last major upheaval came in November 2021: it was decided to give up the 24/7 broadcaster and instead focus more on the quality of individual formats, which are flanked by the twitch offers of the broadcaster’s various streamers – More information about the restructuring can be found here.
However, it should not be because of this new concept, but because of the current economic situation that the Rocket Beans are in crisis a little more than a year later. On the official blog writes Managing Director Arno Heinisch:
“The cancellation of Gamevasion in December had already given a foreshadowing that we were in for an economically challenging start to 2023. Unfortunately, we now have to realize that the premonition is becoming reality and that, as a result of the energy crisis and the resulting tense economic situation, we continue to receive fewer orders and advertising budgets are reduced or even completely withdrawn. So we are now faced with the situation of registering more costs than income in the coming months.
In order to meet this challenge, we are taking the following measures: To secure the jobs of our employees and stabilize the company, a large part of our team has been on short-time work for three months since February 1st, 2023, we are reducing our working hours to 70% (with occasional Exceptions, e.g. employees working on commissioned productions such as Game Two).“
Content reduction at Rocket Beans
The reduced working hours will of course have an impact on the upcoming Rocket Beans content: In February 2023 there will be no Saturday event, and BEEF Jr. will also be broadcast every two weeks from now on. Further adjustments and failures could follow.
In the future, they want to expand the RBSC membership further and make it more attractive in order to make themselves less dependent on other sources of income. We will find out what that should look like in concrete terms as soon as the time is right. We keep our fingers crossed for all those affected that the Rocket Beans can overcome this crisis and that everyone can work full-time again as soon as possible!
