Tim Cook has presented his usual Apple earnings report today. He has talked about benefits, billing, and different financial concepts. But the figure that has most impressed the parish does not refer to millions of dollars, nor to so many percent of profits.

But simply to units. Units of Apple devices that are currently running all over the planet. More of two billion. A real barbarity. Now I understand why downloads slow down on a day of important updates…

Apple has presented today its accounting figures (without going into many details) referring to the first fiscal quarter of 2023, which corresponds to the fourth trimester naturally last year. And the numbers are still spectacular.

In said quarter, the company has invoiced 117.200 million dollars, with a net profit of 30,500 million. Compared to the same quarter of 2021, the figures are a 5% lower. This is mainly due to the lack of iPhones in stock. It has not been possible to cover all the demand, and this has been noted in the final billing.

But Tim Cook, has wanted to launch a smokescreen to avoid much talk about this decrease in turnover and benefits by launching a very striking headline in today’s conference. He has announced that Apple currently has more than two billion active devices around the planet. Almost nothing.

A figure that was easy to imagine if we stop to think for a moment. We have known for years that there are more than billion iPhones. And just a year ago, in January 2022, Tim Cook already announced that there were some 1,800 million devices working with the screen-printed apple around the world.

So it should not take us by surprise that today there are already more than two billion Apple devices that are operational. A real barbarity.
