Twitch: 28-year-old lies to her viewers and is terribly bad at it – clip goes viral

Streamer Emily “ExtraEmily” Zhang, 28, was in a difficult situation: she couldn’t stream for two days, but wasn’t allowed to tell her viewers the real reason why she wouldn’t be on Twitch. So a credible excuse was needed. The problem: She’s terribly bad at lying to people. A clip of the action has now gone viral on Twitch.

Who is ExtraEmily?

  • ExtraEmily is a Twitch streamer with 135,000 followers averaging 1,280 views.
  • She’s only been on the streaming platform since 2020; her channel has achieved tremendous growth, especially in 2021.
  • It shows speed runs in Nintendo games and travel streams as IRL.

Twitch streamer has to go away for 2 days, cannot reveal the reason

Why did she have to lie? The streamer has made the breakthrough by signing with Asmongold’s streaming organization, OTK. There she will moderate her own show.

The catch: She had to take Sunday and Monday off for the signing, where she usually streams. But she wasn’t allowed to reveal the reason, because OTK wanted to plan her engagement as a separate event and announce it as a surprise.

The streamer therefore had to find a reasonably believable excuse for her regular Twitch viewers as to why she wouldn’t be on the air on Sunday and Monday.

“…oh, and I’m sick…and busy!”

What did she tell her chat? That was the problem. The streamer is apparently the worst liar in the world. She explained to the chat after a 5-hour stream:

  • On Sunday she will register her car.
  • She will empty her mailbox on Monday – so she cannot stream.
  • Oh yes, besides, she was also ill.

As she said this, she seemed uncertain, embarrassed, and kept her hands out of sight.

When she realized that things weren’t working out that way and the first doubts also arose in the chat, she quickly added: In addition, she was very busy and still had to clean her room.

That was the problem: In the chat, people immediately realized that the excuses all sounded outrageous:

  • The car registration is hardly open on Sundays – and anyway it only takes a maximum of 2 hours to register such a car.
  • “Clean the room?” – that’s probably silly, as an excuse not to stream. She could say right away that she still had to wash her hair.
  • The first in the chat then shouted that they were looking forward to the “OTK” unveiling

Emily called the chat “silly” and waved it off, but she must have realized that she couldn’t get through with the number.

So which clip went viral? Two Twitch streamers from their new organization, OTK, looked at their excuses together: Mizkif and Esfand moaned about how insecure Emily seemed and how lousy her excuses are.

Above all, the fact that the streamer kept finding new reasons for not being able to stream finished the two streamers.

The clip has almost 200,000 views. Apparently you can’t be mad at a person who lies so badly – that must be a nice person.
