The story and the setting of the game are strongly based on Greek mythology. Players take on the role of a so-called Amyetri – “a corporeal spirit condemned to a shadowy existence in the in-between realms of purgatory.” To be freed from this affliction, players must fight together through hordes of creatures and ancient deities in bloody dungeons. Perish features fixed maps with variable objectives, similar to other co-op shooters.
