WoW column: Somehow I miss the mission table a bit…

WoW Patch 10.0.7: Baine's Revenge? Find Dataminer Quest for Tauren boss (1)

A good six months before the release of WoW: Dragonflight, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas announced that there would be no mission table for the time being. Since WoD, players have had the opportunity to recruit NPCs and send them on missions. That made me, like many others in WoD, a WoW millionaire for the first time. The feature subsequently became less and less attractive with the Order Hall, the slimmed-down version in BfA and the pact variant in Shadowlands.

With the autobattler feature in Shadowlands, the developers just overdid it. The missionary table is commonly regarded as “most disliked feature” and even got from us missed a billing article. However, after a good two months of Dragonflight, I have to admit that I somehow miss a mission table feature.

Am I weird or…

… don’t you miss that little activity after logging in with the twink army? The developers of WoW probably got me (buy now ) conditioned to log into WoW for that little good feeling to check my missions first. This simple, nice task that lets me log through my characters and bag little rewards. Leveling up NPCs, collecting a little gold on the side, transferring items such as fabrics and runes to characters … mission tables were almost always a mini-game in the big game. I can hardly be the only one who misses that a bit, can I?

Does World of Warcraft Dragonflight run on every toaster? Dave and Raff in the benchmark craze

Don’t get me wrong, Dragonflight has enough endgame content. Because I hardly deal with the reputation factions of the current expansion and because world quests have become unattractive in the meantime, there is no such simple, direct, small task after logging in.

The honeymoon phase is probably over

World quests are now useless for character progression, as are rare enemies. Glory factions don’t grant character power and professions take up too much time for me to make sense of.
