from Andrew Link
The Odyssey Neo G70C offers a flat UHD panel with mini-LED technology and is said to change hands for just over 1,600 euros. Among other things, it offers DisplayHDR 600.

Samsung has introduced the Odyssey Neo G70C, a 43-inch monitor with a flat and matte UHD panel (3,840 × 2,160 pixels) and a mini-LED backlight. How many LEDs the backlight called Quantum Matrix technology uses was not revealed. That would be interesting for the expected FALD zones (Full Array Local Dimming). A search revealed 1,196 zones, which Samsung does not name in the data sheet. As an example: Apple uses over 10,000 LEDs in the 16-inch Macbook Pro and groups them in over 2,500 contrast zones.

For the Odyssey Neo G70NC, Samsung states a typical brightness of 400 candelas per square meter and certification according to DisplayHDR 600. Peak brightness levels of up to 600 candelas per square meter are therefore available for HDR content. The VA panel is 144 Hertz fast and supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) with certification as FreeSync Premium Pro. The response time is given as one millisecond, the static contrast as 4,250:1. With Flex Move Screen, the screen size can be adjusted between 43 and 20 inches.

The Odyssey Neo G70NC is equipped with a display port (1.4), two HDMI (unknown standard, according to the announcement in December 2.1), two USB ports (3.0) as well as LAN and WLAN/BT for the gaming hub and the smart functions. There are also two speakers with 20 watts of power and RGB lighting. The foot is tiltable. From 10.02. the model is available in German retail. According to Samsung, the RRP is 1,619 euros. There is currently an event running Samsung’s own shop at 1,399 euros. The model is not yet listed in the price comparison; for the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 G75NB in 32 inches and with a curved display.
