2K Games confirmed this afternoon that Firaxis Games is working on the next part of Civilization.
Many details about Civilization 7 – let’s call it that – are not yet known.
A new leadership for Firaxis
Actually, that’s basically all we know about it so far: A new part is coming. There are no concrete details about the next Civilization yet.
The development was confirmed in another announcement: Jake Solomon, creative director of XCOM and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, is leaving Firaxis Games.
With him, the previous studio manager Steve Martin is leaving the company after more than 25 years. Heather Hazen will take over as studio manager.
“I’m starting a new chapter, but I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to pursue my dreams at Firaxis Games,” said Solomon. “I am grateful to everyone who enjoyed XCOM and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and to my development and publishing partners who helped bring these games to life.”
Creative Director of the next Civilization is Ed Beach. Beach has been involved with the series for more than 15 years, including Civilization 6, the best-selling installment in the series to date.
