As usual, the lights go out in the MMO shooter Destiny 2 before you can embark on a great adventure with the release of a new expansion. We will explain to you exactly how the maintenance times for the Lightfall release are planned, when Destiny 2 will be offline and when it will continue! Sony console Guardians have one extra thing to consider.
Every time an expansion for the MMO shooter Destiny 2 is released, the Guardians have to do other things 24 hours before, because then Destiny 2 is offline and the game is not available. It’s the same with him Destiny 2: Lightfall released on February 28, 2023and the folks at Bungie have revealed the exact schedule for Destiny’s offline times and maintenance.
Destiny 2 offline as of February 27, 2023
The maintenance for the preparation of Lightfall and Season 20, the Season of the Resistance, begin on February 27, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. and end on February 28, 2023 (hopefully) at 6:00 p.m. Once Destiny 2 (buy now €12.90 ) is no longer available, ongoing activities will end and players will be thrown onto the title screen. From 6:00 p.m. it should be possible to preload the data from Lightfall on all platforms.
Those of you who play Destiny 2 on Playstation 4 or Playstation 5, should ensure they have around 80GB of hard drive space available for an additional installation package to be downloaded along with the data already present. Don’t worry about Lightfall clogging up your hard drive. Although both datasets must be available for a working preload until the end of the maintenance, the old data will then be automatically deleted when Lightfall is started.
Redeem Bungie Rewards
You cannot redeem Bungie Rewards during the maintenance period, so be sure to do so beforehand if you still want to claim any expiring Season 19 or The Witch Queen rewards. Rewards must be claimed and purchased by February 27, 2023 at 6:00 p.m., after which it’s time.
