Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal studios are set to release five AAA games by 2028.
The Embracer Group bought the western part of Square Enix last year. The purchase also includes the two development studios Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.
Embracer expects these studios to release five AAA games by March 31, 2028. This was announced by Lars Wingefors when the quarterly results were published.
Embracer defines AAA games as those that have more than 100 people working full-time at the peak of development. A significant or significant marketing budget is also part of this definition, as is the expectation that a game will sell at least two million copies.
If the development is paid for by an external partner, Embracer must have a significant economic benefit to be included in this category.
For example, this could fall into this category Perfect Dark Reboot made in partnership with The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics. A new Tomb Raider is also in development, with Amazon Games acting as publisher.
Series new games Deux Ex, Thief and Legacy of Kain would also be a speculative possibility, since there were already some rumors about it.
