The gaming industry in Germany mourns the loss of Ingo Horn. The man was a real institution and not least known for his extensive charity work. For example, Ingo Horn founded the clubs Gaming Aid eV and LetsPlay4Charity eV.

Ingo Horn had recently emigrated from Germany to Spain, and now he has died unexpectedly at the age of 49. As stated in the press release and among other things also at gameseconomy means he died of a heart attack.

Who was Ingo Horn?

Ingo Horn started his career in the video game industry in journalism, initially he worked for the game magazine Power Play. But he has also worked in PR, including at Virgin Interactive and Interplay.

For example, he is said to have ensured that there were saxon dwarfs in the German-language version of Baldur’s Gate.

Most recently, Ingo Horn worked at Wargaming (World of Tanks, World of Warplanes), and has been for many years. There he was Communication Director Europe.

Particularly active in the charity sector: Ingo Horn was also particularly busy with regard to the good cause. Among other things, he has the charitable associations Gaming Aid eV and LetsPlay4Charity eV founded. There, for example, event streams are organized for a good cause.

In 2016, Ingo Horn was recognized by the jury of the German Developer Award for his diverse commitment with an admission to their Hall of Fame.

Awarded medals: In 2020 he even received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
